From Pre-Kindergarten to Middle School
The Discovery Museum and Planetarium offers kids interactive learning experiences that will intrigue and engage as they spark a love of science and math.

The Discovery Museum, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation whose mission is to educate, excite, and engage visitors in the exploration of science, technology, and ideas through interactive experiences that promote new insights. The Museum seeks to enhance public understanding of science and technology by providing instructive experience through participant interaction with hands-on physical science exhibits, Planetarium programs, the Challenger Learning Center and various educational programs. The Museum provides a broad range of educational programs in science and technology, as well as in the area where the two disciplines interact. We draw individuals and school children from across the Tri-State area. Last year over 68,000 young people enjoyed our many interactive exhibits and educational programs.

School Child

You don’t have to be an Einstein
to realize there’s a science education crisis in America. And you don’t have to be a math whiz to appreciate the above statistics.

And you also know the economy is playing havoc with non-profit funding.
Your help is necessary so we can continue to reach the children in Bridgeport and its suburbs, throughout the state and tri-state region with transformative, interactive science education.

Support
Your donation will enable our outreach to provide these benefits to 40,000 children as well as support hands-on programming and exhibits for our 60,000 visitors from all over the world.

$25 will purchase teaching materials for hands-on learning labs.
$250 will send a child to Discovery’s summer science program for one week.
$500 will sponsor a program plus provide transportation for a Bridgeport class to visit and experience Discovery.
$5000 will purchase a new, full-dome planetarium show for our 120-seat facility.
Priceless - You as a volunteer.

Click on the "Donate" button to give online.
We are grateful for contributions in any amount.
No amount is too small or too large!

You can also help us by contacting your legislators in Hartford and in Washington, reminding them of the priceless value of science education for our nation’s future prosperity.

They need to hear from you on how Discovery plays a vital role in our region’s future growth by educating a future workforce to be skilled in technology and a citizenry knowledgeable about the political ramifications of environmental policy decisions.

We thank you.
