Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle with a visit to
The Discovery Museum and Planetarium. We've got great exhibits, new
shows and plenty of hands- on fun for the whole family.
| Breathtaking Hubble images featured in new planetarium
show |
 |
Since its launch in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has
provided incredible images to astronomers in unprecedented
detail, allowing them to make an astonishing array of new
discoveries - from violent storms on nearby Mars to black
holes and galaxies at the limits of the observable universe.
Hubble Vision 2 takes the best and most exciting deep
space images and weaves them into an engaging story of cosmic
exploration, bringing the wonders of the universe to Earth.
Major themes in current astronomy and cosmology are presented
in this all-new planetarium show, with new views of the
planets; peeks into starbirth nurseries; visions of stardeath
in its many forms; explorations of star clusters and galaxies;
and views of the universe when the earliest galaxies were
first coming into being. Of course, no Hubble tour would be
complete without those breathtaking, deep-field views of the
most distant galaxies ever seen. Hubble Vision 2 will be
presented daily in the Museum's duPont beginning December
26th.

| Music exhibit inspires museum visitors to dance and
sing with joy |
 |
Music is part of the fabric of everyday life. It is both an
art and a science as well as something we all can participate
in as producers, performers or listeners. The Museum's current
travelling exhibit "Access All Areas: Your Backstage Pass
to the Music Industry" explores many different aspects of
this universal subject, from physics, history & technology
to the artists & audience. Some of the exciting components
included in Access All Areas are 33 hands-on interactive
displays, fun attractions like the DIY Disco,
Star in your own Video, and Karaoke Shower,
artifacts such as the original car designed by Brian Eno
for U2, plus tour props, clothing, and plenty of photos.
Access All Areas is on display at the Discovery Museum
only through January 2, 2006, so plan your visit today.
This is one Discovery happening you will not want to miss!
