Special Planetarium Show in the newly renovated Henry B. duPont III Planetarium

Join Guest Speaker Dr. Stefan Nicolescu, Yale University, Peabody Museum of Natural History, Division of Mineralogy and Meteoritics, with a special introduction by Bridgeport  Mayor Bill Finch.

Meteorite falls and finds capture our imagination with their out-of-this-world connections. These happenings, few and far between in the public eye, rarely make headlines. This was not the case in a three-month span in 2013. The dramatic fall and flash of the asteroid in Russia, the discovery of the potentially first meteorite from the planet Mercury in Morocco and the occurrence of two meteorite falls here in Connecticut brought the subject of meteorites quite close to home.

Explore these recent discoveries from the world of meteoritics, then join us for a special Planetarium Show in the newly upgraded Henry B. DuPont III Planetarium.
